Books
Those of you tempted to recreate the delicious taste of Henderson's at home will be interested to know that two Henderson's Recipe Books are available - Henderson's Wholefood Cookbook and The Henderson's Book of Salads. These make wonderful gifts - even to yourself! - and sell for £4.95 each or £8.90 for the two.
However Henderson's commitment to the life literary doesn't end there. The exhibition 'Unspoken Lines' by Joyce Gunn Cairns, currently on show in the Janet and Mac Gallery in Henderson's restaurant, features many of Scotland's leading poets and novelists, reflecting Joyce's deep love of literature, and many of the sitters' works are available in the restaurant. These include the poets Stewart Conn, Edwin Morgan, Bashabi Fraser and Tessa Ransford; the works of Gerard W. Hughes have been an important part of Joyce's spiritual quest; while we also stock back issues of 'Chapman', Scotland's quality literary magazine, as well as poetry published under the Chapman imprint. Henderson's also stock the works of John Cairney, who performed here during the 2009 Edinburgh Festival - and who is to present a Christmas show in the Wine Bar later this year - and a number of titles of local interest. As a family friendly restaurant, Henderson's also sell a range of interesting and unusual children's books.
Henderson's and The Henderson Gallery are also proud to have presented evening talks, lectures, poetry readings and book launches in association with several Scottish publishers, and have many more planned for the months to come. So why not swing by the restaurant, grab yourself some coffee and a snack, and settle back with a good read: all part of the Henderson's experience!
