"Excellent show. Wendy is a delight to listen to. She has a great personality too. Don't miss this show"

"After a busy day roaming the festival and taking in the sights and sounds, relax and be transported to a world of music with Wendy. This show is like balm for the senses as an eclectic mix of songs from Scotland combine with modern classics. Tony makes the guitar sing and Lauren's backing vocals and keyboard enhance the truly enchanting tones of Wendy's voice."

'Delightful performance with almost capacity audience and the atmosphere seemed cordial and intimate. Wendy's voice is powerful, mellow and distinctly clear. The encouragement of audience participation was responded to with some lovely singing and all joining in with Auld Lang Syne. This hour passed too quickly.'

'This show had everything, variety, talent, humour, charm. Wendy has a great voice, huge versatility and latge reportoire. My husband thoroughly enjoyed it too. We can recommend it highly.'

john cairney

Actor, artist, raconteur and academic, John Cairney is a performer of staggering versatility, a true renaissance man of the Scottish theatre.

Having lived in New Zealand for the last 17 years John has returned to his native country, and this festival will return to the poet with whom he has become synonymous.

This 250th anniversary of the birth of Burns also marks the 50th year of John Cairney's association with Scotland's ploughman genius, having first played the Bard in 1959.

John is looking forward to sharing a lifetime's knowledge and enthusiasm for Burns with friends old and new at Fringe '09: Destination Henderson's.

'Cairney's style is vibrant...this is endearing stuff...pitched exactly on target for the breakfasting audience.'

alicia devine

Stage and screen star Alicia Devine, a Fringe sell-out in previous years, gives a breathtaking performance, by turns exhilarating, tender, joyous and yet touched by tragedy, in this fascinating exploration of Robert Burns through the eyes of the women who loved him.

Verse, song and feminine wisdom combine to give a unique insight into the magnetic, mercurial and sometimes mystifying character of the world's favourite poet.
